ButcherBox – Cashback, Rebates & Rewards

This is a follow up to my original review posted a few months ago. I've now had the opportunity to sample all of the meats and experience their service. After my 1st review it was questionable as to whether or not I would be reordering or canceling and the reasons are articulated there so I will not rehash them. The reason I gave Butcherbox a second chance was because their service reps bent over backwards trying to deal with my "concerns". Their flexibility leaves something to be deisred but within their limitations I felt generally pleased with all but one of four interactions with them. Lets stick to the products and whether or not it makes sense to supplement our dietary needs using this company. My weighted answer is "yes", especially when you decide which products do not fit your tastes. I for one was very disappointed in the Strip Steaks and having recieved two FREE steaks to overcome my concern with too much grizzle didn't thrill me. That relates to the flexibility issue since a simple substitution would have been, IMHO, in order. The meats were otherwise good and of fair, not great, value. It didn't help BB to be up against a local sale where I was able to put back (10) beautiful porterhouse steaks for 50% off. So, comparing that isn't very fair. I was taken back by one STUPID reps accusation to "STOP SHOUTING"! It was ridiculous since I was calm, typing, NOT speaking, and asking why a $10 credit had not been applied "as promised. This is the level of frustration these people are under after all of the negative reviews that my daughter pointed me towards AFTER I had made my 1st order. The food supply channels are getting more and more difficult for reasons we will not discuss here. BB is NOT the problem but I'm sure they have suffered for the same reasons we as consumers have. What I would suggest is to give them a try BUT limit your purchases so that you can take advantage of local sales as they arise. The biggest advantage to BB is the HEALTHIER meats from grass raised and finished beef and that is something we should support. My 4 star rating is fair and I would have given them a 5 star this time if that idiot hadn't acted in such a ridiculous manner. For now I will stick to my 60-day reorder schedule, order the meats I prefer, and take advantage of the nice specials they offer regulary. The shipments come in quickly after each order is placed and are sealed extremely well to prevent the food from thawing. Too bad they can't just keep a year of reviews at a time instead of carrying those negative ones around their necks like a boat anchor.

I have received a monthly box from Butcher Box for over a year now and have had no issues. I got in on a promotion of free ground beef with each box and that is a nice bonus. I find the quality of the meat to be very good and the delivery is usually on time. I like the convenience of not having to go to the grocery store to try and find the meat I want. I will continue my subscription as long as it is a positive experience.

I am quite surprised to see all these negative reviews. We have ordered with butcher box several times and find their organic chicken tenders and ground beef to be some of the best meat my wife and I have ever had. Their customer service has been solid too. One of our orders, the delivery person left it at the end of our driveway, basically in the street at 8pm. We have a 200 foot driveway so, yeah, no way we were going to see that. In the morning, leaving for work, we saw the box and it was soaked and partially defrosted. Called butcher box, told them what happened, they told me to throw it out, and they sent a brand new order, no questions asked. Dissapointing to see all these low ratings, we haven't had any issues at all.

So far we have only had one box delivered. It has all been high quality meats and we will definitely continue to use BB!

The first chicken breast out of the package had white line disease. This is a disease caused by hormone additives and too rapid growth in poultry industrial production. It is precisely what Butcher Box claims their suppliers do not do. This low quality chicken is available at any supermarket for 1/4 the cost of BB. In all fairness, the BB chicken had minor white line. In no way is it as bad as I've seen at big box stores and supermarkets. After reviewing BB's explanation of their partners' efforts to provide humane treatment of their birds, including pasture access, I am changing my rating from 1 to 4 stars. At least they are trying which is more than I can say about the mega-chicken producers. I will personally inspect the chicken breasts from now on to ensure I am getting the product I expect.

I have been a client of butcher box for years, and the meat comes frozen and well packed. When i defrost it to eat, the meat is perfect, tender and juicy. This year i sent a box to our employees, and all of them are happy with the meat.

I have used Butcher box since 2018 and have had a wonderful experience. The 2 or 3 issues were handled with replacements ASAP. Great quality and customer service. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants quality meat delivered to your door. I have a carnivore way of eating and all I eat is meat. Very satisfied with this service. THANK YOU Butcher Box...

I really like Butcherbox. It is a bit pricey if you choose to do steaks, but you can get really great cuts of other types of meat and you'll get more bang for your buck. I specifically love all the wild caught, high quality seafood you can get for pretty decent prices. I also love the chicken thighs and wings, they are decently priced and organic and come in 3 lb packs. The pork butt and baby back ribs are really good too. But beyond the product and price, their customer service is fantastic. I recently made a mistake with my address on my order and they remedied me even though it was my mistake. I am very impressed by this and will continue to use this service for all my high quality/organic meat needs!

My only real complaint about butcher box is that the chicken breasts are packaged with multiple breasts in one plastic package making it impossible to use frozen in the Instantpot because it’s way too much work to separate the breasts within the one plastic because they are frozen in a clump of meat. Not everyone can get dinner thawed in advance. This usually means we have to eat take out and spend more money. It’s frustrating for working families as my friends have the same issue. The other cuts of meat are so much easier to thaw or use frozen in the Instantpot bc they’re not clumps of meat frozen together.

Butcher box orders I have received have always arrived still frozen. They're using LaserShip to deliver the package. I get email and opted in for text alerts. Package is well insulated. If it's thawed but still below 40 degrees you can put it into the freezer and it will be fine. There's sometimes substitutions, but I don't mind. As I have no food allergies or special requirements in other words I can eat just about anything. Comes into Jacksonville, FL then to Orlando, FL and finally delivered to me in Wildwood, FL. Usually there's some dry ice still in the box upon arrival.
