My Directv receiver has been turning off automatically/sporadically for over a week. 4 times just today! I called the cust. service #, spoke to a man named Vin...he seemed helpful until he said he would need to send a technician to my home to fix or replace my receiver...at a cost of $99.!! ...or $8.00/mo for a protection plan. ARE THEY NUTS? This is not my equip, I've been a cust for over 20 yrs, he had the nerve to say I was a valued customer... wonder how they treat their customers who aren't yet valued?? 11/17/2022 UPDATE: I heard from several reps of Directv, including someone from the President of Directv offering assistance. Turns out my receiver was defective, so it has been replaced and is working just as it should, I'm getting the service I'm paying for. The new receiver presented a challenge for this senior...I called and "Derrick" from Montana walked me thru the entire process. He was so helpful and patient. The best news of all I learned that Directv is no longer under AT&T 's corporate umbrella, therefore all we customers can expect to resume better services. Thank you!

A percentage of the reviews of Directv are negative. I thought I would share a positive experience with Directv and give them a big "pat on the back". Recently my wife asked that I change my programming. I contacted Directv and the agent on the phone was NOT, I repeat, NOT from the Phillipines. The person I spoke to was located in Texas where english and culture are the same as mine. I would like to congratulate the management of Directv for leaving the Phillipines customer support in the Phillipines....and bringing good ole english speaking agents to the US to handle our calls. Guess what? It works better that way. I love how they process you call and put you in line......no more waiting listening to had music. Then they actually call back. Directv is amazing I I love them. Have been with them for 26 straight years and congratulate them for putting together a telephone response team that is world class.
