Avoid their gift cards

I got a gift card subscription (that wasn't even relevant to me as my menstrual health is fine) and it automatically enrolled me in another subscription. If automatically enrolling from a GIFT CARD was required, it would be helpful to get information as to why our payment account information is being required and including a clear note that states that we need to cancel our subscription after the gift card subscription has been used. It is very misleading to automatically continue the subscription from a gift card. I also don't understand why it's so challenging to remove my payment account information from a site that make it challenging to understand how a gift card works. Also, I was informed that it took weeks to get information on the gift card AFTER purchase because the time to respond took so long. I was originally supposed to receive this for a Christmas gift and got it in January because they purchased it and did not get any info on how to give the gift card. Also, to say that it takes 3-6 months to work, I guess I understand that it may take that length of time for some individuals, but I regularly take herbs prescribed by my acupuncturist and go to acupuncture appointments and can confidently say that it does not take that long to see improvements in my menstrual health. Maybe it takes that long for those who do not eat healthy?

Elix is trying to solve a real problem in gynecology, but what they offer needs some improvements

First, I want to say that Elix seems to be a good company that is helping many women who are falling through the cracks in our "let's recommend a birth control 'scrip for everything that comes through the door" gynecological system. And herbs that Elix is putting in blends do actually have supportive effects. I've had great experiences with their customer service people, too. That said, for me, Elix did not work. I've had heavy menstrual bleeding (no cramps) for over a decade at this point, with some bleeding during ovulation. Before 2024, I had two ultrasounds (one in 2006? and another in the mid-2010s), but no internal ultrasound because the probe they were using was not designed to be used on women who have never been sexually active with men and/or women who haven't had children. They shrugged, told me this was probably just my lot in life, and recommended birth control. I declined birth control because I've heard so many things from other women about side effects, and I didn't need the birth control feature. The bleeding got worse and worse, so I started investigating herbals because I fell through the cracks of the gynecological system and I was desperate for something, anything, other than BC. This is when I found Elix. I have been trying to take Elix for ... I'm not even sure when I started, it's definitely been a few years at this point. I checked off my symptoms, including dizziness, heavy bleeding, migraines, lightheadedness, some heartbeat irregularities, lower digestive system problems, bloating, and so on. They gave me a blend. Fast forward to late 2023. I suddenly had excruciating pain when inserting tampons and went into the gynecology department, and I also started bleeding with physical activity like spin class or hauling my laundry (engaging my core). Apparently saying I was in pain changed everything because they were suddenly interested in fixing me. They removed a cervical polyp and sent me for imaging to see what else was there, a saline sonogram. The probe for the saline sonogram is half the size of the probes for a normal ultrasound, so I was able to have it. They found a 10.1 cm fibroid on the outside of my uterus that is pressing on my colon (causing IBS-like symptoms!) and more polyps in my uterus (causing the heavier and heavier bleeding!). They also sent me for an anemia test. My iron saturation ratio was 9%. Under 10% is very, very bad. So now I am on iron, B vitamins, and vitamin C. I've already seen massive improvements after only a few days. A surgeon is reaching out to me to schedule a procedure to take out all of the growths. Should I have pretended to be in pain this whole time just to get proper medical care from the obgyn department? I hate lying, but now I really wonder. I had fallen through the cracks in our medical system for years and was so frustrated. It feels like a blessing from the Gods that I'm finally getting help, and all because one of the polyps grew so large that it prolapsed and started hurting. All of that to say that my reasons for docking a star is that I think Elix needs to add features to interface with other parts of the gynecology landscape. If a blend isn't working for someone after 6 months, I am betting that they need to go in for imaging and should be given a script to help them demand that from their doctor and get through insurance hurdles — they may have similar problems to what I have been experiencing. Women who are reporting fatigue and headaches that do not improve after two quarterly quizzes (apparently low iron can cause them when estrogen changes at certain points of the cycle!) should be flagged, and it should be recommended to them that they contact their GP or obgyn for iron tests (note: taking iron without a diagnosis could hurt the liver if iron isn't the problem). These are functional mechanical problems that have progressed beyond the point at which hormone-balancing herbs can totally help. I do think that the herbs will work far better for those who have straightforward cycle problems or pain from endometriosis.

The cancellation policy for the…

The cancellation policy for the subscription is a joke. Email after email after email. No phone number, a FORM to cancel?! This company is a joke! I regret EVER doing business with them and would never recommend their product based on this alone.

Hassle to cancel- so-so results

The product is so-so I used it for 4 months, not sure I saw any improvements. When I consulted with my doctor & naturopath they suggested I get off it. Hence dealing with jumping through hoops to cancel an optional subscription. Why do I have to explain my reasoning for canceling? Not a customer-focused business. Would not resubscribe.

Update- The issue has been resolved, received my shipment

Update: The company resolved my complaint and not only replaced the shipment that I almost did not receive because it shipped nearly a month late but also sent the new bottle (free of charge). My family was traveling to Florida and I needed an extra bottle before we left home. The products are amazing and I am thankful that this issue has been resolved. I have since then restarted my subscription now that we are back home. My only suggestion would be to notify customers if there is a shortage of a product. I did not notice I had not received anything until maybe 3 to 4 weeks after my shipment should have arrived. Communication would have prevented any issues in this situation.
