Meetup – Cashback, Rebates & Rewards

As a group organiser on Meetup I find the platform to be great. Yes, there are a few limitations, and the occasional IT glitch, but it has allowed me to create a thriving community where people can come together and make new friends. Most of the negative reviews on this site seem to be from people who have had issues with particular groups on the platform, and yes, some groups are disorganised and require improvement, but the great thing about the platform is that there are a multitude of groups that people can be a part of. And if a group doesn’t exist for a particular area or niche, then it’s possible to create your own group! On the whole Meetup has been great! I have made some really good friends, and 99% of the people I’ve met on the platform are really nice!

I have been an organiser for almost 2 years. The fees are quite expensive (around £15 per month) but the platform worths it. I never had any issues with an event or payment via Paypal, it is straight forward. I like that I can manage the members and remove the no-shows and members who do not respect other members. Organised events for year using it, first on the south coast and then in Manchester, UK. Safe site for posting events for strangers with enough checks in place to verify real accounts from fake. Never had an issue, aside from 502/503/505 Cookie issues which the site does need to fix. Seem to be a lot of fake reviews here from people who've either abused the platform or tried to exploit members and were surprised people didn't want to join them; that's not the site's fault and Trustpilot should be reviewing these reviews!

As someone attending other peoples events, using meetup over the years has been great! But, now I'm a host. There is no customer service, it's frustrating. My question is a simple one yet there's nowhere to get the information. They use the "community forum" type of system where other customers can respond. I'm paying to receive no service from actual Meetup.com. I've yet to post an event. I didn't read reviews before giving them my money. Frustrating. UPDATE (from 2 stars to 4 stars) ---------------- I did get a response from someone on the actual support team (thank you, Meetup and great that you have an actual support team). I've since tried some features (contact group members) and unsure if they work but time will tell if the members are getting any information I send out. If I remember (I probably won't), I'll write another review in a year.

I have been a member of MeetUp for years, I hae always browsed groups, and even registered to attend some meetups, but never did for one reason or another. The pandemic has change this and I have now been able to bear the fruits of such an amazing company. With tons of groups gone hybrid completely remote, I have been able to hone in new skills, as well as meet some amazing people on my journey to obtaining a PMI Project Management Professional certification.
