What is Metromile Cash Back?
Though Metromile already offers highly discounted products, it’s always good to have additional cost-saving opportunities, right? That’s what you can get with Metromile cashback – a system of returning a certain percentage from your purchases at Metromile to your wallet. Yes, that’s real money – not some Metromile cashback bonus that you can only spend for subsequent purchases in this store, but hard cash that you can use for any other purposes.
How Does Metromile Cashback Works?
Metromile cashback: sounds simple enough, but how simple is it? The definition of cashback states that it’s literally a cash rebate, but where does this money come from? It comes from promotional deals between third-party sites and Metromile. These promos are paid in the form of cash to the cashback site and then transferred to you. These cashback sites feature clickable links that direct traffic to the main Metromile website, which in turn rewards the site. Want more Metromile cashback deals? Metromile Cash Back Calculator
The cashback calculator is available in some cashback services (for example, SecretDiscounter) on the page of each store and allows you to quickly calculate the amount of cash back that will be returned after a purchase. However, to calculate the cashback, the calculator uses the maximum store rate, and if the store has several rates for different categories of goods, the calculator takes into account the largest one.

If "zero stars" could be "awarded" to this POS "company" I would give it a NEGATIVE 10 STARS. Was T-Boned and Metromile claimed that car was "predetermined to be total loss". Haven't heard from the USELESS adjuster, DAVE GABBARD won't return my calls. DON'T USE THIS AS YOUR INSURANCE CARRIER, THEY'RE TRULY USELESS. EDIT: METROMILE FINALLY CALLED ME, AND I COME TO FIND OUT THAT THE "INSURANCE ADJUSTER" THAT WAS "WORKING" (I use that term very lightly) WITH MY CLAIM "WAS NO LONGER WITH THEM". Gee, no wonder why! He didn't do his job! NO ONE HAD THE DAMN DECENCY TO GET BACK TO ME. Trying to warn folks in advance through Trust Pilot.

It's actually unbelievable how bad this insurance company is. I had my car stolen for 2 weeks, and not only did they not pay to get the biohazard detailing to remove the crack soot from the person who stole my car, but since the vehicle was covered while the person stole it drove it, I'm on the hook for the 100 miles they drove WHILE MY CLAIM AND POLICE REPORT WERE OPEN. Absolutely ridiculous, avoid this company at ALL costs.

Car battery goes flat every week due to Metromile device. I've had two cars on metromile policy: a brand new Mercedes-Benz and an old miata from the 90s. Both cars' batteries would go flat for the first time soon after I installed the metromile device. I reported the issue upon 2 months. The MB car battery would go flat every other month, while in middle of the traffic but mechanic found no issue with battery or engine. The Miata's battery would go flat every week, no issue with battery or engine. I had to buy a jump-start device for $$$, replace my cars' batteries more frequently for $$$$, pay mechanic inspections more often for $$$. At the end of the day, metromile device caused so much mechanical expenses that their low-cost coverage had become one of the most expensive out there. On paper, you think you pay less than $100 for two cars, but adding all the expenses related to battery drainage and road side assistance, Metromile turns out to be more expensive than AAA. Metromile should offer an alternative coverage based on year mileage based on odometer. That way, it would still be based on mileage, but without the need for a plugged device. Another thing to note is that their device keeps running even after the car is turned off (green light is on). This causes car batteries to drain. I would recommend their hardware team to consider turning off the device when the engine is off, and restart only when the car is running. Not sure why it's still not fixed after so many customers reported the exact same issue with battery drainage. Metromile isn't worth it. I really want to stay with them but they don't offer any alternative or solution to the problem. I have to find another insurance because it's become a nightmare for me to find my car battery flat on weekly basis. Who can live like that?

I had an identical terrible experience with customer service as did the other trust pilot reviewer "Navjot Singh Jauhar". I had signed up to metromile and submitted all the necessary paperwork, then 6 months later they send me some sporadic request for ADDITIONAL documents (photos of car, odometer, etc), and after I submit them they tell me: "failure to provide information necessary for risk and rate review by date requested" - Metromile Underwriting Thus sending me down the rabbit hole of having to find a NEW insurance. If these documents were so important, REQUEST THEM AT SIGNUP, not 6 months later with risk of cancelling service. All the research I did to switch over to metromile from my existing company was all for NOTHING!

Some rear-ended me last week and their insurance is supposed to be with this company. I've spent hours on the phone: called claims department, customer service, sent email - and they won't give me a claim number so I can get my car repaired. It's a total clown-show. Their web site claims page doesn't work, either. This company is BAD to deal with on so many levels. Would never buy insurance from them.

Terrible customer service, they cancelled policy claiming I didn't submit the requested information on time. I spoke with their customer service and explained that I never received any request for information from "underwriting". He apologized and sent me the email. I duly responded but then got notice - "cancellation will not be lifted due to failure to provide information necessary for risk and rate review by date requested". What a joke for being a loyal customer for 5 years.

I like Metromile because I don't drive that much so the fact that I can just pay for the miles I drive is a plus for me. When I first signed up, I was worried about going to road trips but I was pleasantly surprised that all miles over 250 per day are free. However I do think that the base rate could be lower.

Outstanding auto insurance company. I get a really excellent base rate, decent mileage rate, and when I'm local it's around $55 a month. When I've traveled 4,000 miles in one month it came to $180. Full coverage including roadside and uninsured motorist. Excellent rates, excellent service, excellent coverage. Telephone representatives are totally professional. Best auto insurance company out there in my opinion.

Rates are reasonable. Customer service is well above average. Whenever I had a flat or needed a jump, Metromile's roadside assistance proved to be extremely useful.

Like the other reviewer, I was initially pleased with Metromile as I was saving a bit of money. You may save at first, but if you ever have a claim, you’re screwed. 2015 BMW X5 (55k miles, excellent condition) - damaged side mirror that affected electrical Just received their estimate - they will only cover having a used mirror from a junkyard be mailed to the repair shop and pay them less than 1/3 of the labor they charge. I’ll be paying over $1,300 out of pocket to get my car back to its original condition and that's the cheapest of the two quotes I've gotten from other shops. They do not send an estimator to see the vehicle - they only ask for photos of the damage be sent and assess from that The adjuster’s number goes straight to voicemail every time and have only called me back once after 3 messages and 3 emails asking for info Prior to even receiving this ridiculous estimate I’ve spoken to at least 6 different people, requested supervisor callback twice and not received one, and spent many hours on the phone and on hold trying to get information on timing. Everyone says something different. Just got estimate from Travelers and it's cheaper so kicking myself for choosing this "cheap" insurance!
