Will keep updating review but I just felt compelled to write this review now! If you have children who are early risers like mine do not book this hotel! Pools open at 10AM!!! Trying to keep the kids entertained for 4 hours when they can see the pool is extremely hard!

For mig skulle der arbejdes en hel del på det for at komme op på et 5-stjernet hotel :-) Dels er jeg ikke fan af plastikplanter, kunstgræs og laminat - men ok, det er jo en smagssag. Bodylotion lugtede harsk, conditioner virkelig skidt. Det fremgår tydeligt, at det er et spa hotel. Vi går til spa området, hvor der er en kold indendørs pool, en kold sauna og et dampbad, der ikke er i funktion. De forklarede så, at man skal booke det - fair nok, det havde bare været rart med oplysning om, da vi tjekkede ind. Vi fik også en massage, som i sig selv var ok (270 euro for to var det måske uanset ikke værd :-D), men den foregik i et alt for koldt rum, hvilket vi sagde, men der blev ikke gjort noget ved det. Service på hele linjen ville også være godt at få lidt opgradering på :-) Fx beder de om, at man selv henter drinks i en anden bar, selvom de står på kortet for den pågældende bar. Fik også et autosvar som jeg ikke kunne bruge til noget på en simpel mail om airport transfer. De ville være meget bedre stillet med, at være vurderet til et 4 stjernet, og der skulle de så også arbejde lidt på det :-)

Zafiro Can Picafort

After our recent stay in their Can Picafort resort I felt compelled to write the following to the director: Dear Sirs I am writing to you to express our disappointment of our recent stay with your hotel at Can Picafort. We booked 3 penthouse apartments and on arrival found the rooms to be extremely tired and dated and certainly not as nice as the images on your website led us to believe. Also it was clear that the communal areas in block 5 were not cleaned regularly, if at all. The fridge in our room did not have any storage facility in the door as parts were missing, anyway it was quite so we did not feel inclined to put any food products in it. Having spent €50 euros on food one of our party woke the first morning to find ants crawling all over it. They were then moved to another room later that day and during their stay discovered the jacuzzi did not have sufficient water to cover all the jets which brings into question was the water properly treated? Particularly as one of them was sick for 48 hours after using it. In another room a kettle did not automatically turn off and boiled completely dry and the kitchen was basically falling to pieces. Also in this room a 2 year old was sick having been in the jacuzzi, we did not use the jacuzzi in our room and neither of us experienced any sickness. We have photos of the state of some of the rooms should you require them. We were woken early nearly every morning by furniture being pushed around in some of the apartments, we discovered no one else was staying in block 5 and it was maintenance staff carrying out works. On our last full day this work started just after 6.30am. One of my daughters had a lunch at the poolside restaurant and the food was appalling so was inedible. Non of the bars had drinking straws throughout our stay and quite clearly some staff had not been trained in making cocktails. Early one evening my one of my daughters ordered a drink at the poolside restaurant and after it had been served a manager came over and told as she didn’t have a reservation the drinks were taken from her, I find taking a drink away from a 2 year old after serving it quite disgusting behaviour. I look forward to hearing from you.

Zafiro Andratx - kein 5***(**) Hotel

Es gibt im Zafiro Andratx verschiedene Themenrestaurants die man über eine APP reservieren muss. Wünscht man eine bestimmte Tischzeit macht es zwingend Sinn, die Restaurants frühzeitig zu reservieren. Es besteht aber auch die Möglichkeit die einzelnen Reservierungen zu ändern, aber es besteht dann meist wenig Hoffnung kurzfristig das gewünschte Restaurant zur gewünschten Tischzeit buchen zu können oder diese sind eventuell ausgebucht. Als wir am Anreisetag ein Restaurant mit unseren Kindern reservieren wollten, war dies erst ab 20:30 Uhr möglich. Alle anderen Tischzeiten waren bereits ausgebucht. Leider haben wir beim Einchecken nicht den Tipp bekommen sofort einen Tisch für den ersten Abend zu reservieren, damit unsere kleinen Kinder nach der langen Anreise nicht so spät essen müssen. Wir versuchten dann für unsere Kinder über den Zimmer Service Pasta zu bestellen, weil unsere Kinder müde und hungrig nach der langen Anreise waren. Wir fragten den Service wie lange das Kinderessen dauert. Man sagte uns etwa 15min. Nach 20min bekamen wir einen Anruf das ein Essen nicht lieferbar ist, da die Zutaten fehlen. Unglaublich. Wir bekamen das Essen dann nach einer Stunde. Vielleicht hätten wir bei Lieferando bestellen sollen. Die hätten sicherlich geliefert. Als wir abends im Restaurant pünktlich um 20:30 Uhr eintrafen haben wir darauf hingewiesen, dass wir kleine Kinder haben und unsere 8-Jährige Tochter nicht mehr so lange durchhalten kann. Das Essen kam dann nach 90min, um 22 Uhr! Aber die Krönung war, dass das Essen für unsere jüngste Tochter immer noch nicht fertig war. Das Essen meiner Tochter kam dann als ich schon mit dem Essen fertig war... das ist schon ziemlich unverschämt. Und wenn man darüber nachdenkt, dass es sich hier um ein 5* Sterne Hotel handeln soll, ist es eher eine Frechheit. Am nächsten Abend haben wir in einem anderen Restaurant gegessen. Wir mussten draußen sitzen, weil es im kleinen Innenbereichen keinen Platz gab, und es war sehr kalt. Eigentlich hätte man seine sieben Sachen packen sollen und außerhalb des Hotels in einem schönen gemütlichen Restaurant essen gehen sollen, als abends auf einer kalten Terrasse im Hotel zu sitzen. Als wir nach der Hauptspeise dann noch Desserts bestellt haben, kam der Kellner nach einer Viertelstunde zu uns uns sagte, dass es keinen Pudding für die Kinder mehr gibt... der Kellner versprach dann Mousse de Chocolate für die Kinder machen zu lassen. Als wir Erwachsene unseren Nachtisch bekamen machte der Kellner irgendeinen Scherz, den wir nicht verstanden haben. Wir fragten dann weitere 10 Minuten später wann denn der Nachtisch für die Kinder kommt. Er antwortete und sagte, dass es auch keine Mousse de Chocolate mehr gibt. Wir waren mehr als verdutzt und konnten nichts anderes mehr tun als das Restaurant verlassen. Die Qualität des Essens war maximal durchschnittlich. Das Entrecôte meiner Frau im spanischen Grillrestaurant war gar nicht ess- oder genießbar. Der Kellner konnte beim Anblick dieses zähen Stück Fleisches, dass man auch mit gesunden Zähnen nicht vernünftig kauen konnte, auch nur sehr traurig schauen und entschuldigte sich höflich. Auf ein neues Essen wollte meine Frau dann nicht mehr warten, weil ihr der Appetit vergangen war. Viele Gäste haben sich während unseres Urlaubes beschwert, mit einigen kamen wir ins Gespräch. Es war auch hier einfach nur bitter zu hören, dass die Probleme in diesem Hotel viele Gäste betreffen. Die Frühstücksatmosphäre ist mit einem Frühstück am Frankfurter Hauptbahnhof zu vergleichen. Beim Abendessen bemüht man sich ein exklusives Ambiente in den Themenrestaurants zu schaffen. Im Buffet-Frühstück Restaurant gelingt das nicht. Es ist sehr voll, sehr laut im Restaurantbereich und extrem hektisch. Die Plätze auf der Terrasse sind sehr überschaubar. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist üppig. Durch den Stress der Mitarbeiter sollte man über die Qualitöt des Services großzügig hinwegsehen und wenn der Kaffee nach 15min nicht serviert wird, obwohl man diesen bestellt hat, einfach mal die eine oder andere Servicekraft ein zweites oder drittes Mal fragen. An einem Morgen mussten wir 15min vor dem Frühstücksrestaurant warten bis wir einen Tisch zugewiesen bekamen. Es war ein herrlicher und warmer Vormittag, 09:30 Uhr. Wir wollten draußen sitzen, aber es gab keine freien Plätze. Man könnte meinen, das ist ok und man kann nichts machen. Aber dem war nicht so! Die komplette vordere Terrasse war zur Verwunderung der Gäste gar nicht eingedeckt. Als die Schlange der Gäste zum Frühstücksbüffet immer länger wurde, weil viele Gäste gerne auf der kleinen Terrasse sitzen wollten, entschied man sich im Hotel die Tische auf der vorderen Terrasse dann doch noch einzudecken. …

Be very careful booking on their free cancellation and travel insurance plan. It makes you think that their is free cancellation and there is nothing to ever suggest that you will be charged for cancelling. It does not cover COVID cancellation so the 30% deposits we payed will not be refunded even though we are unable to travel to Spain. Just make sure you read into every detail !

I won’t go in to all of the detail, as the need for this review is to highlight the NEGATIVES…. First impressions - SHOCKING! - The receptionist ‘DAVID’ instantly advised me that this hotel was 'NOT REALLY A FAMILY HOTEL!' - Upon my complaint of the tiny room. Our first day was ruined, whilst we waited for the hotel to find a bigger room. They were unsuccessful. Love Holidays handled the complaint poorly and the call advisor basically told me that when she booked a triple room with her mum and son on a holiday, that it was fine. So this was insulting, as this was not the same hotel, nor was her son a baby. They wouldn’t have needed space for a travel cot or a pushchair. So I’m sure they got on just fine! (Rolling eyes.) The LH agent who booked the holiday – didn’t take in to consideration the ages of the children on our holiday, he just went with the number of people and put us in to 2 rooms. These rooms accommodate 3 in each room, but not for children. We were not offered a family suite. The complaint handler advised that this was my fault for not looking at the square meters per room. WHO EVEN WALKS OUT THE SQUARE METERS IN THEIR BACK GARDEN BEFORE BOOKING THEIR HOLIDAY!! Zafiro advised they could upgrade us but it would cost us another 4500Euros – Even though we paid £6,500 for the 9 nights. We were finally offered a bigger room, which had two bedrooms, two days before we were due to check out, they showed me two different options, and then when I agreed, they advised me this was another £150 – which was a reduced rate. I declined. This hotel is 50 years old and has had attempts to make it modernised – But are failing. ALL PHOTOGRAPHS ARE VERY WELL TAKEN AT AN ANGLE TO MAKE THINGS LOOK BIGGER. YOU WILL FEEL LIKE SARDINES AROUND BY THE POOL AREA – There are so many sun loungers – old mixed with ‘Zafiro’ style loungers. Many of which had fabric sagging from them and were snapped / broken – these were lined up alongside others, and also stacked up in a loose pile on the side of the pool. BEWARE also – the POLISHED concrete floor is slippery, poolside. Even the pool entertainer slipped over. ~SMOKING – shouldn’t be allowed by the children’s pool – IN ANY HOTEL! – Two families in particular sat on the front row of sun loungers and chain smoked all day. IF YOU ARE TRAVELLING HERE AS A FAMILY THEN THERE IS ONLY ONE POOL FOR YOU. AS THEY DO NOT TELL YOU THAT THE SWIMMING POOL ON THE ROOF TOP IS 'ADULT' ONLY. THE DESCRIPTION FOR THIS IS NOT ON THE LOVE HOLIDAYS WEBSITE. ~ The rooms are the size of a shoe box. If you travel with children that require additional luggage and if you need a travel cot, then you wont have any space in your room. ~ You don't have enough space in your room for your luggage - if travelling as a family. ~ You only get 9 hangers, so a 9 night stay in a triple room means you have to live out of your suitcase. ~You will not have any drawers in your room. ~ The beds will not be what are shown in the images – you will see this by the photos I post. A lady by the pool stated she had a metal bed which was nothing like the bed in the photo they booked from. ~ There are no sound barriers from room – to – room. We made several complaints about the noise, even at 4am. You can even hear conversations clearly of those who walk by your room. ~There is only one bar available to get drinks at, unless you go to the ‘ADULT’ bar – 5 floors up, without children. So we spent lots of time queuing for drinks. The AL LA CARTE RESTAURANT – Great food, however, we were given the dessert menu after our starters, and then our mains arrived. Once we finished out mains, we never got asked if we wanted desserts. We ended up getting up and walking away. ZEN SPA – should you want to book a massage – then I WOULDN’T recommend it. We paid over 70 euros for a 50 minute massage and facial. To then be out of the room within less than 30 minutes. I raised this complaint with the reception, to be advised that they would speak with the manager. The next morning, I returned to reception and asked what the outcome was to be told, the manager was starting at 9am, I was due to check out and they told me I had to wait. I asked if they could email me, they advised not. This is something else to add to a shocking holiday. We made the best out of what we had, but wont EVER return there again and would only advise anyone to pay the extra and go the 5* Zafiro hotels, as the 4* hotels are nothing like their typical ‘Zafiro’ quality. It has been very disappointing. The best thing about this hotel was Naomi. She is an absolute credit to this hotel.

Stayed at Zafiro Rey Don Jamie in Santa…

Stayed at Zafiro Rey Don Jamie in Santa Ponsa, Mallorca and loved it. We went half board for 5 days, the breakfast and dinner had lots of selections and different each night. Breakfast you can have any tea, coffee, soft drink, water etc and with dinner you can have the same plus help your self to beer and wine. The hotel was really clean and great staff, fun entertainment all through the day and great pools. One pool is on the roof top of adults only which has a great view and a lovely pool and bar. And then the large pool on the ground floor is great for all the family. It is only a 2 minute walk from the beach and less than a 10 minute walk to all the bars and restaurants. Had such a great time and we didn’t want to leave. Would highly recommend !

En spontan efterårsferie efter en meget regnfuld sommer, førte min familie til Hotel Zafiro i Palmanova. Jeg havde mine betænkeligheder. Kunne stedet leve op til løfterne afgivet på hjemmeside i billeder og beskrivelse? Ja tak, det er det bedste hotel jeg nogensinde har været på. All inklusive med meget varieret måltider, du havde ganske enkelt ikke lyst til at spise andre steder. Poolene - top...underholdning tjek. Aktiviteter hele dagen inddelt i aldersgrupper - helt perfekt. Personale var yderst professionelt og meget venlige. Pænt og rent på hele hotellet. Vi havde en Royal famile terrasse med egen topterrasse og spa. Det er ikke sidste gang vi er her og jeg giver mine varmeste anbefaling....eneste minus, var poolens varmegrader, 4 grader varmere havde været skønt, men skyldes måske årstiden.
