Airalo saved me for excruciating charges during my travel to US. I was unsure whether to use due to some negative reviews but I went for it and it was a great decision. As long as you follow the detailed instructions and watch the videos they provide you can get the eSim for a good deal.

There are some steps to follow to install an eSIM, but it worked for me for a vacation in Taiwan. No hassle to put a real SIM card in my phone since I already have two SIMs. No standing in a row, making copies of passports, but easily in your home country. I only had no 4G-data on the 12th or 13th day at the Sun Moon Lake, maybe because I don't have a subscription directly at Chungwa. So one star deduction.
