Frankfurt Airport Shopping DE – Cashback, Rebates & Rewards

We reached T2 by Emirates past 8 pm on 8th October 2022, with a few checked in bags. To catch a long distance train from T1 we took a shuttle bus. The first bus driver hesitated to take us saying there is not enough space left in the bus for our luggage. In a later bus we somehow managed to get in. At T1 bus stop we took another luggage carrier and moved in to go to the train station. For that we had to go one level down and then from there to go to level 3 or 4 to the train station. However to go to one level down there was on elevator or escalators. So we had to leave the second luggage carrier took, and carry the bags one by one and from there had to take a third carrier. At that level in T1 the shops were closing and we could not get even a bottle if water. The signs are not very clear for a new person there and after wandering for about half an hour we could find the lift to the train station. In short, three luggage carriers by paying 3 euros, and carrying luggage through the stairs, no one to ask any doubt, no water to drink... It is a nightmare! At the minimum there should be an elevator accessible from the bus stop at T1. Unfortunately the airport is not aware that long distance travellers come with a lot of luggage, it seems.

Wer zu viel Zeit, Nerven und eine gute körperliche Konstitution hat, kann sich eine Flugabwicklung über diesen Flughafen leisten. Derzeit gibt es kein Personal oder Technik zur Flugzeugbetreuung. Koffer können nicht ent- oder beladen werden, nicht gescannt und somit ewig lange Wartezeiten. Und die Koffer bleiben am Flughafen, werden hoffentlich irgendwann nachgeliefert. Die Gastronomie ist nicht mehr zeitgemäß- nur einseitiges und ungesundes Fastfood, nicht leistbar. Ich fliege in Zukunft daher nicht mehr mit Lufthansa und nicht über einen deutschen Airport. Übrigens: Handgepäck nur max. 8 Kilo, Aufgabe sehr teuer, keine Gratisplatzwahl, Wasser und eine kleine Schoko als Verpflegung. Und dann wird das Handgepäck beim Rückflug "gratis" eingecheckt, kommt aber nie an - was will man mehr. In Zukunft fahre ich mit der gleichen Reisedauer gemütlich mit der Bahn.

I had dinner at Haussmann’s Restaurant in Frankfurt Airport Monday, 28 March. When I paid the bill using a credit card the terminal gave me different options for amounts to tip and also to not tip. In Germany, unlike in for instance America, I’m pretty sure the workers receive a reasonable hourly wage, so tipping should be optional. I was asked by the waitress why I didn’t tip her. This to me felt like she was overstepping a boundary. If I had paid with cash I don’t think that this situation would have arisen. Or I hope not, anyway. I hope that the staff of the restaurant can be advised by their leadership about how to handle this type of situation - it felt very awkward in my option.

Wenn möglich den AIRPORT FRANKFURT meiden! Bei den letzten zwei Flügen habe ich über 60 Min am Gepäckband gestanden. Halle total überfüllt ( in Coronazeiten), schlechte Luft und keine Sitzmöglichkeit. PRIORITY Gepäck kam als letztes Gepäckstück an. Die Zustände sind in der heutigen Zeit unmöglich. Profit für die Fraport AG geht wohl über einen ordentlichen Umgang mit den Fluggäste.

Riesiger Airport, vor Allem aber ist es um das Gelände herum interessant, wenn man ein Fan von Flugzeugen ist. Als Teilzeit-Spotter mache ich hier immer gerne Aufnahmen. Vor Allem vom südlichen Rand.
