At first I was doubtful about this system because I had experienced difficulties with pronunciation for 2 years but I keep going until finally I was very grateful because MB had taught me pronunciation very easily using the film method.

Thank you for a wonderful enjoyable foundation to learning this beautiful language! The greatest enjoyment for me was near the end of the course when you genuinely surprised me with how EASY numbers 1-99 and specific calendar dates are. I think it was deliberate on your part but so much fun. Building the pinyin chart brick by brick seemed slow until all at once the small steps (bricks) turned into the Great Wall! I was so happy creating random numbers and dates and correctly saying them on my own and INSTANTLY. The joy made all the effort up to that point worthwhile. Energizing, exhilarating to go from 0 -100 miles an hour just for a little while before ascending further up the mountain with characters, etc. I can only hope you have more beautiful surprises in store for me, what a great way to start thank you again! .

It's just a really well designed system. It successfully deals with a lot of the obstacles that face Mandarin learners, like memorising characters, and creates an efficient method for handling each of those obstacles. It successfully manages transitions from one phase of learning to another. Its emphasis on "bottom up" learning makes sure you have a deep enough understanding of each part. And it relies on natural human tendencies and thought processes to make the whole learning method efficient. It's also multifaceted, so for example there are tips on maintaining motivation, and a customer service and query system that a lot of larger companies would do well to learn from.

You can really tell the time and effort put into this. If you're anything like me I need a good structure when learning. This provides exactly that. Still a lot to learn but it puts me to ease knowing I am following a plan. Finished the course in about a week or so? Now onto the Mandarin blue print! Wish me luck.

What makes Mandarin blueprint stands out is that I create a link to the characters through memories, which means that I can recognize the characters and understand their meaning. Any characters I learn through Duolingo or textbooks don't stick! If it does, it is very slow. With Mandarin blueprint, the characters are forever ingrained because I do the SRS every day. The advantage is that they did the heavy lifting so that you focus on the most common characters!
