SAM is a wonderful customer service representative

I see here that many people have had a bad experience with Expedia. I might have had a similarly negative experience, if not for a lovely and extremely supportive young lady named "Sam" who answered my phone call to Expedia Customer Service. I have nothing but great things to say about what happened: The phone was answered promptly by a real person ("Sam" which is short for Samantha, I think.) I asked about the baggage allowance which was confusing to me. This led Sam to check and she discovered the airline had oversold the seat so my ticket was no good. She immediately arranged a refund; emailed me twice within the span of three minutes as I had requested her to please email me a confirmation that I would get a refund; stayed with me the entire time on the phone as I awaited the result of her investigation; and she repeatedly soothed me throughout the waiting process by assuring and re-assuring me that "I am with you." What a beautiful individual. I was lucky to get such a wonderful and caring individual on the phone. She really did care about my plight. And I did receive my refund on my credit card within 48 hours. I want Expedia the corporation to know that their representatives (Sam, at least) are doing a fantastic job and deserve some sort of special recognition, a bonus, a big gold star. If not for Sam, I probably would not want to book through Expedia ever again. But because of Sam, I most definitely will book through Expedia again and have no hesitation in doing so. THANK YOU, SAM. YOU SAVED ME FROM A NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE.

So far the most reliable agent for us

So far the most reliable agent for flights and hotels (mostly in Europe and ME). It's surprising to read all 1* reviews since I had a pretty good experience with any booking I made through them in the last 6-7 years. Our last 2-week trip this summer included 15 cities (9 hotels) and a number of tours in Spain - all were booked with Expedia and with no problems. Since we were changing our trip dates and tours a number of times, there was one time I had to ask a help from a Customer Service live rep and one time via an automated agent. Both times all was resolved (dates change). Even last-minute changes were accommodated. In fact, we made only one reservation via a different platform (starts with B) and it turned out to be a bad mistake - the hotel was horrible and unsafe, and support from that booking platform was absent altogether.

I’ve booked many dozens of stays through Expedia over the years with few issues if any. It’s a fast easy way to find accommodation in any city and even includes bnbs.

Conflict resolution

I had quite a headache dealing with virtual, online and over the phone agents (giving conflicting information that in turn didn't lead to a resolution) and I finally spoke with Angelica F. (That's the name I got from the email that I sent in information about booking) she spent over an hour sorting through my issue and helping me come to a resolution and was so kind and patient through the whole process.
